Tiny Feet

I adore these tiny feet! Especially while they are crossed during every meal.
I am trying to savor every moment with my tiny baby while he still seems tiny to me.
Once baby girl comes, I am sure he will seem gigantic in comparison.

Parable

Almost everyday Alec and I flip through this beautifully illustrated book by Greg Olsen.

I am always pointing to the pictures of Christ while saying, "Jesus". Well, the other day Alec pointed to the cover and said, "Jesus". I was so proud I couldn't help myself, my eyes welded up with tears as I leaned down to give this sweet, tender-hearted little soul a smooch.
As I did, WHACK!!! Alec's hand flew through the air as he smacked me right across the face. Are you kidding me?
I wanted to firmly scold him for spoiling such a precious moment. But instead, I took this golden opportunity to teach him one of Christ's famous parables, I let it go as I turned the other cheek.

Tourists- Garden of the Gods

Scott and I have lived in Colorado coming up on five years now.
We recently had a discussion about how many people vacation and travel to Colorado to sight-see. Which led to another discussion about how lame we are that we have hardly seen any of Colorado. Which then led to a pact that every free weekend, we will become tourists of our own hometown.

Our first stop was Colorado Springs where we walked through Garden of the Gods.

Even though it was a cool 100* outside, Alec was a little champ.

Even though the scenery was breathtaking, I couldn't stop taking pictures of this sweet face.

My best impression of the Lion King.

Afterward we walked down the historic district and stopped at this place for burgers.
(I have been obsessively craving burgers and red meat this pregnancy. Go figure, with Alec it was clementines)

Alec was worried about catching a cold in the stale 100* heat.

This tourist business is tiring! I think Scott and I both wished that we could have done this on the way home.

Hmmm, where to next?

Stroke of Luck

I REALLY wanted this shower curtain from Anthropologie for our downstairs bathroom (even Scott really liked it); however it was $168. I quickly got over the idea that I would have it. There is no way in my right mind that I could justify spending that much...that was until yesterday. I was having a horrible case of the pregnancy blues, and I knew just what would cheer me up. With a guilty conscience I decided to splurge and buy the curtain. I went online and what do you know? Just my luck it was on sale for $68.
Sold.
I can't wait to hang this beauty in my bathroom. Guilt Free.

Need I say more about how serious this little boy is about his hoops?
Obsessed!

So grown up now going to nursery.
Scott and I both got called to nursery in our new ward, so he has started going a month early.

Fireworks

We had a wonderful 4th of July, spent in Colorado with good friends at a bbq and then fireworks at the local Town Center.

Our little puff-a-holic, caught in the act. He was mesmerized by the fireworks.

Scott's Backyard Bash

Scott finally allowed me to throw him a party for his 30th birthday.
We started off the evening with delicious food catered by the one and only Costa Vida.

Brazilian Limeade

We spent the evening out on the deck eating, playing games and enjoying kid free conversations.

We are so grateful for the wonderful friends that came over to celebrate!

Some of Scott's favorite candy. Sweedish Fish, Peanut Butter M&M's and Jelly Belly.

We sang to the birthday boy followed by a Smith family tradition, German Chocolate Cake.
It was heavenly!

We ended the evening with this video montage of Scott's Thirty Years.
I seriously think that he may have been the cutest little boy on the face of this planet!
