A Fun Visit

Ask anyone that knows my Dad and in one word they would describe him as FUN.  That being said, while he was out for a visit we had a jam packed week full of fun and food.

First stop was a Rockies baseball game.

Grandpa and Ava bonded.  She was content to just sit and snuggle with this cuddly bear for a good hour.

This family sure does love Dip-n-Dots

Clearly.

(Like Mother like Daughter.  Look at Ava in the background)

In true Alec fashion he played hard to get.  But was eventually won over by my Dad and Karen over his beloved puzzle.

Ava patiently waiting for attention.  Is this kid for real?

Thursday was Scott's 31st birthday.  We celebrated with food, food and more delicious food.  We started off the morning with brunch at the French Bakery.

We split an omelet stuffed into a baguette.  Currently one of my top 5 favorite things.
My Dad and Karen treated us at Flemings for dinner later that night.

The next morning we went golfing.  For the first time in Scott and Heidi history, Scott beat me!
Pretty good birthday gift from me, wouldn't you say? Wink, wink.

We took the kids to the Nordstrom Cafe where we ordered a couple of helpings of their sweet potato fries.  Also currently amongst my top 5 favorite things.

One of my favorite parts of their visit was Friday evening.  We decided to relax on the deck, play with the kids and barbeque.  The meal was a collaborated effort.

 Scott, the Grill-Meister.
Love that cute grin!

Karen, the Scouter of fresh fruits, veggies and meats.

 Grandpa was on Ava duty.

 Alec the Entertainer.

He made Grandpa wait three days before White Chocolate made an appearance.

Giving Ava a victory kiss after sinking a hoop.

And then there was Heidi the......I don't know, the Bubble-Blower.

Scott's burgers were delicious as always.  But the real star of the evening was the grilled corn on the cob with cilantro lime butter topped with crumbled Feta cheese.  Amazing!

I'd say this is one happy crew.  Dad's grinning, Karen couldn't wait to take another bite, Scott is saving some cilantro for later, and even Alec ate a little protein that night!

Thanks for making the trek out to Denver, Dad and Karen.  We sure enjoyed the company!
