Ava's 1st Birthday

This Thanksgiving we had so much to be thankful for!
Among the top of the list was the birth of Ava.
We HAD to celebrate her first birthday on the actual day...so to add to the craziness of hosting Thanksgiving, we also had a birthday bash for Ava in the morning.

At 12 Months here are 12 things that make Ava, Ava

1. Still maintains her reputation as a princess, angel girl!
2. When getting her out of her crib she jumps, squeals and then dives headfirst into her mattress.
3. Loves to be held and then loves to be put down.
4.  Speedy.
5. Sleeps through the night, with the exception of politely whimpering for a bottle around 4am.
6. Will smile most anytime that I acknowledge her.
7. Clingy...and I love it.
8. Music.  Crawls all around the piano while I play.
9. Squirmy.  Will not sit still in a stroller or high chair.
10.  Cleaner.  Has finally stopped spitting up!
11.  Standing.  Can stand for a good 10 seconds without holding onto anything.
12.  Wrapped.  She has us all wrapped around her little pinky.  She gets whatever she wants!

Could not get enough of this girl!  Poor thing was sick, but that didn't stop her from attending her party.

The guests...us, my mom & Reed and my sister Kim and her five kids.

Grandma G spoiled Ava with this beautiful music box. I had one of these as a child and I absolutely adored it.

I think all the girls in the room adored this one too.  She had them all eating out of her hand.

The birthday girl wanted nothing to do with her cake.
Maybe she was a little too stuffed from Thanksgiving dinner?

This past year has been nothing but pure joy as parents!
Words cannot express how much love, peace and joy she has brought into our family.

Here is a little video that we played of her first year.

Sup?

Cee-lo anyone?
Yes, I just compared my precious angel baby girl to a short, midgety, black creepy rapper man.

Baby Sharks! Doo-doo Doodly-Doo

I am terrified of sharks, have a borderline phobia of them.  So don't ask my why, but ever since Alec has been born I have been obsessed with dressing him as a baby shark.  I really wanted to dress Ava up as something pink and girly for her first Halloween, but I couldn't get baby sharks out of my head.

It probably has something to do with my favorite childhood song that I have been annoying Scott with for almost 10 years:

"Baby Shark!  Doo-doo doodly-doo.
  Baby Shark!  Doo-doo doodly-doo.

 Mama Shark!  Doo-doo doodly-doo.
 Mama Shark!  Doo-doo doodly-doo.

 Daddy Shark.  Doo-doo doodly-doo.
 Daddy Shark.  Doo-doo doodly-doo.

 Grandpa Shark.  Doo-doo doodly-doo.
 Grandpa Shark.  Doo-doo doodly-doo.

Person Swimming. Doo-doo doodly-doo
SHARK ATTACK! Doo-doo doodly-doo"

He has always said how dumb I look/sound when I sing it.
This Halloween I now have him and our 2 children singing it multiple times a day.

Obsessed with these Sharks!

Stuffing him in his carseat gave us a good laugh.
On our way to a friends bon fire for delicious food and trick-or-treating.

Happy Halloween!

Look out ladies!

Sale

I am only posting these items for sale on my blog because we recently sold our treadmill on Craigslist for a decent price, only to find that a friend would've been interested.

I am selling our office furniture.  I bought these three pieces 5 years ago at Crate and Barrel for $1,500.  I'm not sure what to sell them for, maybe $450???

I'm also selling this couch.  I bought it from RC Willey about 3 years ago.
We never sit in it, so it is basically in new condition.  $150???

I need to get rid of this stuff to make room for my new office furniture that is scheduled to be delivered any day now.  So if you're interested, let me know.  Also, just offer me whatever you think is fair, I'm not really sure what to price anything at.

Pumpkins

The pumpkins were sparse at the Chatfield Pumpkin Patch.
But that didn't stop us Scott from finding the perfect pumpkin.

Scott's Mini-Me

Deep Fried Oreos.  Tried One. Loved it. Don't Regret It.

After having a completely fried meal, what better way to finish it off than with sugar water?

Better keep an eye on these lovely's.

I've been trying to get Alec to ride a pony all year.  Today was the day!

There goes my stud.  Riding off into the horizon.

Ava 11 Months

My busy little Bee is eleven months.
Wants to crawl all the time.
Wiggles out of everything.
Steals Alec's favorite toys and slobbers all over them.
Hates being changed more than anything in the world.
Wakes up every morning at 4am for a bottle.  We can't bring ourselves to let her cry it out. We're wimps.
Is starting to eat a little baby food.  Loves puffs, crackers and bread.

Any chance she gets, she is on the go.  Hmmmm, sounds a little like her momma.

Charging after Cali who is hiding under the bed.

Spends much of her day at the bottom step.

Much to my dismay she has taken a liking to my linen curtains. These things took me FOREVER to iron.  But she is too cute to stop.  She and Scott crack up playing pee-a-boo in them.

Is a complete mess while she eats.

Best Friends

Alec cannot wait for "Princess Ava Girl" to wake up from her naps.
He barges into her room, scales the crib walls and smothers her with rough, tuff, brotherly love.

Lovely. Happy. Baby Girl.
